L. S. Nicks Insurance was started in 1954 by Elizabeth and Stewart Nicks. They had returned to Grand Coulee to operate the Nicks family farm. Stewart Nicks worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia for twenty five years in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Toronto and Stratford Ontario. They were awarded an SGIO contract in May 1954.

In 1986, Stewart Nicks established a business relationship with Cam Pelletier, a long time Regina Insurance Agent and former SGI employee.

In 1991, Elizabeth and Stewart Nicks’ grandson Steve Harle joined the team. In 1994 L. S. Nicks Insurance moved out of Stewart’s home into a store front office and started as an SGI Motor Licence Issuer.

Cam Pelletier retired in 2007. Steve Harle continues the business started by Elizabeth and Stewart Nicks over sixty-eight years ago.
